In case of problems with the configuration your KNX installation (e.g. you press a push button, but the light does not switch on) you need to be able to see whether the respective telegrams are sent to/from the correct devices. For this reason, there is a 'Diagnostics' tool embedded that can show the telegrams that are sent/received on the KNX installation where the ETS Inside server is installed. To access it, just tap the 'Diagnostics' button (1) on the main toolbar.
You are redirected to the 'Monitor' tool. Tap the 'Start' button (2) to start tracking the telegrams that are sent/received on the KNX bus.
If the connection is successful, you will see that the 'Start' button becomes green. You are ready to see the telegrams.
The view contains the following information:
Time: When the telegram has been received by the KNX interface.
Source: The device that has sent the telegram to the KNX bus. It contains the Individual Address of the device, as well as the device's name.
Destination: The Group that should receive the sent telegram.
Type: The type of telegram (Group Telegrams), that has been sent; this can have three values:
- GroupValueWrite: When a value is written to the KNX bus
- GroupValueRead: When a value is read from the KNX bus
- GroupValueResponse: When there is a response from a device to the KNX bus
DPT: The type of the telegram that is sent to the KNX bus. In ETS Inside they are automatically assigned based on the Object type that is used in a Group within a Function
Info: The actual value of the telegram that has been sent to the KNX bus
Point-to-Point telegrams are not shown in the monitor of ETS Inside.
