|ETS starts in the tab view, also called the Dashboard. You can also navigate at any time using the green ETS button to the far left in the Menu Bar.|
The project overview is divided into two parts. All available local projects (your projects) and all projects in the project archive (project archive) are found here. Switching styles is done on the tab by clicking the text directly. The following information can be found on the status line:
Projects in the Project Archive are projects which are located in a backed up project memory, e.g. a network folder, for the purpose of archiving or editing. The path is configurable.
•Name (max. 50 chars)
•User / Workspace
Local projects are those which are located in the local project memory of the computer, i.e. on the local hard drive. The path is configurable.
•Time of last editing
•Project status (from the project properties) and, if relevant, the status in the project archive (if saved there))
Double-clicking one of the items in the list lets you navigate directly to this project, a single click will open the project properties.
If a project is grayed out, there are two possibly reasons
oThe project must be updated in the ETS before further editing is possible (necessary when an ETS update includes a new XML schema version)
oThe project contains invalid data (e.g. after a computer or ETS crash), it can be then restored to an earlier state via the restore points (see below)
In the project list there are various project functions, e.g. project export/import and to create a project.
Some of the functions shown below are only visible when a project is explicitly selected or when the context menu of a selected project is opened.
ETS App Split & Merge
This section contains three tabs for the purpose of making all project-specific settings. This section is only available after a project has been selected.
2.KNX News and Product Information
This section displays (language dependent) news on KNX, ETS and new KNX products from KNX manufacturers by means of an RSS feed. If the information is not in the correct ETS user interface language on the KNX server, then the English article on the KNX server is simply displayed. Both can be blended out in the ETS Settings.
When connected actively to the Internet, all news articles are downloaded from the server, displayed and saved temporarily on the local hard drive. If there is no Internet connection available then the local data (if any) is displayed.
When connected actively to the Internet, product information that is selected in a window is downloaded from the server, displayed and saved temporarily on the local hard drive. If there is no Internet connection available then the local data (if any) is displayed.
While browsing through product articles that have not been downloaded without an Internet connection, it is possible that pictures and texts cannot be viewed.
The product information is shown randomly with the display of the initial content after starting ETS; sort using the forward/backward arrows.
3.ETS Information und Licensing
This section shows various information on ETS versions/updates, licensing and ETS Apps (from left to right).
••Multiple selection of projects in the project overview is possible. These can then be deleted or exported in one step (the export is done per project with the respective project name; there is no merging of projects into an individual project file).
