An OEM version of a product is a copy of a product (ApplicationProgram, Hardware, Product, Hardware2Program) with a new manufacturer ID.
Create OEM version
To create an OEM version of a product:
·Make available a KNX Manufacturer Tool project with the original product data (registered or not). If only a *.vd*/knxprod file is available, first convert it to a KNX Manufacturer Tool project as described in Create a new Product based on an existing Product.
·Execute the File » New » Project command and then the "KNX Manufacturer Tool OEM Project".
·Select the *.mtproj file of the project with the original data
·Select the target manufacturer
The resulting project is identical to the original project, except that
·the manufacturer ID of all data is changed
·the OriginalManufacturer attribute is set to the manufacturer ID of the original manufacturer (exception: if the original manufacturer was "KNX association", this is left empty)
·registration data is removed, all products are set to unregistered.
After creating the OEM project, the following remains to be done:
·Check unique keys: make sure the unique keys (Hardware: SerialNumber and VersionNumber, ApplicationProgram: ApplicationNumber and ApplicationNumber, Product: OrderNumber) do not interfere with any existing product of the new manufacturer. If it does, these unique keys must be changed.
·Edit the data as required
·The original data might already be an OEM version, in this case the OriginalManufacturer attribute is left unchanged
·When created from a *.vd*/knxprod, the folders and file names might be confusing because they refer to the original manufacturer. Since the structure and names of files plays no rule in MT, you may move or rename the files freely.
