Add Back and Forward Buttons to ETS to cycle between views.

In the Topology view, imagine having a line selected in the tree view, and viewing all devices on the right hand side. You then right click and choose open on one of the devices to view the group objects. A 'back' button would allow you to quickly jump back to the line view of all devices.

This same concept should be applied to all workplace panels.
