ETS: Preserve Group Address Assignments When Changing Parameters

Dear Sirs,

I find it inconvenient that ETS automatically disconnects group addresses when changing a parameter.

For example, when switching from switch to push button mode, why should an already assigned group address be disconnected if it is still compatible with the new configuration?

A possible improvement would be to preserve existing group address assignments whenever the underlying communication object's data type remains unchanged (e.g. Boolean to Boolean), disconnecting them only when the new configuration makes them incompatible.

Version ETS 6.4.1, build 8718.

Would this be technically feasible?
