2 Power Supplies in the same line
Hi,
I would like to know if anyone has experience of connecting to power supplies in the same line?
I'm asking this because I'm going to install a new knx installation in my home, but I would like to have a spare/redundant power supply, for if the main one fails I would connect the backup one.
The ideia is to put the two power suppliers in the cabinet, but only one is connect, the other one is disconnected in the circuit breaker.
What I would like to know is, if someone switchs on by mistake the circuit breaker of the second power supply, what would happen?
Thanks

There is no need to make it that complicated, just use something like MDT's Redundant Bus Power Supply STR-0640.01. This has two integrated power supplies for redundancy so swaps over to the second supply if the first fails.

Hi,
From my experiences, no problem of connecting 2 KNX power supplies on the same line, it may also help if you have many devices on the network and it was not correctly dimensionned !
(I had to do that on a customer site because too many devices and I could'nt program some devices to far on the line...)
