Hi Brian, the dongle does not have to do anything with the login. The window to login to MyKNX is now (mainly) used for the licensing processes of ETS6 and its ETS Apps, either with or without a dongle because ETS6 will try to download the available licenses from the given MyKNX account not only for ETS6 as such, but also for ETS Apps. That was not the case for all the previous ETS6 versions when ETS needed the credentials for licensing ETS only.
In future versions we will link the MyKNX user to several project related actions, e.g. project passwords and their recovery, project archive actions (who has done what), etc.
However, the login window is not shown again if you enter your credentials and login once.

Hi Vassilios, perhaps you could use the dongle's license to identify the MyKNX user?  In my case every time I boot my laptop I have to log into ETS6 again, which requires me to open the password manager to locate the password to type it in again.  I would truly appreciate it if the session could last weeks/months.

Hi Brian, no. It's irrelevant to the dongle. The fact that you are constantly requested to login is indeed weird. If you login once you should not ask you again (or at least not before couple of days when the login session has expired). Could you please observe that behaviour and let us know via a support ticket if it happens again?

Brian, just click the unintuitive “Run Demo” button at the bottom right when starting ETS6.
Vassilios, this would be a good thing to change on the new update. Maybe “Run ETS” instead.

For people with dongles (probably 99.9% of actual Professional users) the login is irrelevant!

Hello Stephen, the button has indeed been rename to "Skip Login" for the upcoming update. Again, the login does not have to do anything with the dongle. The dongle is a "simple" license storage, see my message above.

Thank you both, I don't have a "Skip Login" or "Run Demo" button but there is a Cancel button that I hadn't noticed that lets me skip past the login screen.  I'm on v 6.0.6.

Vassilios, I do get the login screen after every reboot but now that I know how to skip past it I'd call this resolved-ish.  Thanks for your assistance.

Vassilios, the start page is still showing Run Demo in ETS 6.1.1

    Kind regards,

    Stephen
