GIRA GI
Hello everyone,
I installed a KNX system for my entire house two years ago. I used GIRA switches, the GIRA touch sensors 4, which I was able to program under ETS6. They work very well. I wanted to install a central control unit to control my entire house. I also chose the GIRA G1 from GIRA: https://partner.gira.com/fr_BE/systeme/gira-one/gira-one-produkte/bediengeraete/g1.html#cms-anchor-14319
There are three versions of the G1: the 230V WLAN version, the LAN POE version, and the 24V WLAN version. I chose the 24V version because it had standard KNX connectors, but the problem is that I can't enter the program I created via ETS into my central control unit, or even address it.
I'm not a KNX expert at all; I taught myself how to do it, but the rest of my house works perfectly, so I'm happy with the result, except for this switch/control panel, which currently serves no purpose in my system and which I'd like to get working.
From my research in the switch's technical documents, I understand that it needs to be paired with the GIRA ONE module: https://partner.gira.com/fr_BE/systeme/gira-one/gira-one-produkte/server/gira-one-server.html I'd like to be sure I'm doing the right thing so I don't spend €1,000 on a module I won't use.
Thank you in advance.

Hello Christophe,
Indeed your screen alone will not do anything, it can be used as an inside screen if you have a GIRA DCS intercom system.
For the KNX part, it need to be linked to either a Gira "One" as you finded out, (wich is the newer and modern version of the "Home server" also from GIRA) or it also work the same way with a gira "X1"
X1 is more suitable for a one family project, like a house or a small building, the "ONE" is for bigger projects with way more zones/rooms.
Only thing is, you won't connect the KNX directly in the G1, it need to pass through your LAN, so you will have to bring RJ45 connected to your local network, and connect the G1 to the LAN ( you can make this RJ45 POE with an "injector" to be able so skip the 24v) or with WIFI and the 24v, also possible.
Then you will need to program your X1 visualisation (that will be displayed on your G1/on your phone with the gira APP) and link your G1 to it, all of that is done with the "Gira project Assistant" software (free)
Good luck if not already solved in the last 2 month !
Alexandre.
