The exam requirements for KNX certified courses vary depending on the course type.
The table below provides an overview of the applicable theoretical and practical exam requirements.

For courses with both a theoretical and practical exam, the student shall achieve the required passing grade in both exams.
Theoretical exam
The theoretical exam consists of True/False statements.
The following scoring method applies to all theoretical exams:
- Correct answer: +1 point
- Incorrect answer: −0.5 points
- Unanswered statement: 0 points
Practical exam
The following courses include a practical exam:

The KNX HVAC Specialist, KNX Energy Management, and KNX Tutor courses do not include a practical exam.
Additional examination time
A student may be granted up to 30% additional examination time for both the theoretical and practical exams as a reasonable accommodation for a medical condition.
Use of training documentation during the exam
Students may consult the applicable KNX training documentation in paper or PDF format during the exam.
Reviewing the exam
After the exam has been completed, students may review their exam.
KNX certificate
Students who successfully complete the applicable course requirements and pass the required exam(s) receive the official KNX course certificate issued by KNX Association.
The training centre may additionally issue its own KNX course certificate using the applicable official certificate template.
Attendance confirmation
If a student does not pass the required exam(s), the training centre may issue an attendance confirmation, provided that the student attended at least 75% of the total course duration.
