PIXIT
The following different types of PIXIT Proforma currently exist:
| PIXIT Proforma | Explanation |
| PICS and PIXIT for KNX Services |
The KNX PICS proforma allows the applicant to state compliance to the mandatory features of one of the standardized profiles of Volume 6 as well as information on optional implemented features of one of the standardized profiles of Volume 6. This PICS proforma shall be provided for any product of which the system software stack is either uncertified or partly certified. |
| KNX PIXIT Header | This is a form for providing an overview of the datapoints implemented in a given application, as well as an identification/functional description of the application to be tested. This filled-in form can be exported from EITT. |
| KNX Datapoint description form | This is a form for describing the individual implemented Datapoints in a given application |
| BDUT form |
This is a form for describing the Bus Device Under Test (BDUT) behavior on:
|
A KNX accredited test lab has the right to accept forms of presentation that are different from the PIXIT proforma standardized by KNX Association, provided the contents of these documents are equal to or exceed the information normally provided by the PIXIT proforma. The applicant therefore has the following three options:
- Either the manufacturer, elaborates the PIXIT proforma using the Word templates available from KNX Association as a starting point;
- Or the manufacturer makes sure that the internal software documentation submitted to the test lab contains at least the same information as the one the manufacturer would normally submit by means of the PIXIT proforma.
- Or last but not least, a combination of the two cases above, e.g., where the manufacturer uses the Word templates available from KNX Association but makes explicit reference to existing software documentation, which the manufacturer attaches to the filled-out KNX forms.
Note: As regards the PIXIT Header and the Datapoint description form, one may also export the data imported from the ETS database through the EITT software to a TXT file and add the missing data.
The PIXIT proforma may be rationalized if a certain datapoint description applies to a number of group objects or parameters. It is in this case not strictly necessary to fill in one Datapoint description per group object/parameter. The PIXIT proforma shall at least be (digitally) signed on the PIXIT header.
Company internal test report
Company internal test reports shall be compliant with the relevant ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Restricting test results simply to 'pass' or 'fail' is only acceptable if the standard on which a test is based does not strictly oblige the test facility to document the values during the test and if a result can only be documented by 'pass' or 'fail'.
Product Instruction Sheet
Product instruction documentation may be necessary for some products to inform the electrical installer, amongst others:
- On installation (e.g., mounting, cabling, environment, etc.).
- On electrical safety (e.g., use of products in combinations, environment, etc.).
- On liability aspects (e.g., hints on risk reduction, etc.).
- In case of detachment of the BCU and application module (e.g., because of storage and delivery reasons), the approval of the product expressed by the KNX logo (e.g., located on the hardware) is only valid if:
- The application module is properly connected to the BCU.
- The certified application program is loaded.
As the product instruction sheet is a part of the product, it shall be submitted along with the other filled-in forms at the latest when applying for certification of a given registered product.
