ETS 3 to ETS 5 - Problem with communication objects

Hello guys! 10 years ago I did an installation using the ETS 3. Today the owners of the building are making some changes so I need to change the KNX instalation as well. I have the project on my ETS 5 now, but I`m facing some trouble. They have old Siemens radio recievers - Coupler wave / instabus UP 140 and I think that even the latest aplication program of the device is suitable only for ETS 3. The problem is that when I try to link a group object I get an error message. ( When I did the same thing 10 years ago with ETS 3 - Everithing was working fine). 

So.. my question is, 

is it possible to commision only this device throug my ETS 3 and do the rest of the work on ETS 5?
