Can I use the same ETS6 license on multiple computers?
Hi everyone,
I mainly use ETS6 on my office PC, but I also need it on a laptop when I’m working on-site. Sometimes I also use another computer at a different location. I have the ETS6 dongle, so I can move it between computers, but that gets a bit inconvenient when I’m switching between locations. Before I buy another license, I wanted to check how others handle this. Is there a way to use the same ETS6 license on multiple computers, or is a separate license required for each one?

Hi, if you have a cloud license, you can release the license from ETS and log in on another computer. However, only one user can work with the license at a time.
With a dongle license, you have the limitation of physically needing the dongle with you, although you can use it on any computer where the dongle is connected.

I use a cloud license. It lets you sign in to ETS6 from any computer using your MyKNX credentials, so there’s no need for a physical dongle. The only limitation is that you can work on one computer at a time. If you already have a hardware dongle license, you can’t switch to a cloud license after activation, so you’ll need to move the dongle between computers as needed. If you just want to avoid carrying the dongle around and don’t need to work on multiple machines at the same time, you can use tools like https://www.donglify.net/en/ to access the dongle remotely over your network. That way, you don’t have to keep unplugging or moving it.
