This setting defines the automatic individual address assignment of devices. It comes into effect when adding or inserting new devices into a project from the catalog. The default 'Current line' of a newly created project is None.
When a device is inserted into a project and it is assigned to a line, its individual address can be assigned automatically. However, when adding a device into a room, the address assignment is not readily apparent. ETS offers a way of defining the automatic assignment of individual addresses.

Local setting - Via the Buildings panel
An individual address is assigned based on the building structure to which a device is placed. This setting can be made in the Buildings panel.
- Select a Building/a Building Part (selection of multiple building elements is allowed)
- Open the Properties from the sidebar and find the 'Current Line' dropdown menu
- Select a line, devices added afterwards to this building part will use the template of the line.
- 'None', devices added afterwards to this building part will not use a template.
A setting made in a lower-level building part overrides the setting of the upper-level building part.
The assignment rules are only applied the first time that the devices are inserted into a building part and if the devices do not have an individual address already.
