A new project can be created in one of the following ways:
- Dashboard
- Local Projects List
- Taskbar context menu
- Project wizard
Dashboard
On the dashboard via the button 'New Project' under the Overview tab.
Local Projects List
Open the Local Projects list and click the button 'New Project' on the sidebar.
Taskbar context menu
Right-click the ETS6 icon on the taskbar and then click 'New Project' in the context menu.
The New Project dialog appears on the screen.
The following options are provided in order to configure the basic project settings.

If checked: the Area 1, Main line 1.0 (implicitly) and Line 1.1 are immediately created in the topology using the medium specified in the dropdown menu below. If not checked: The project has only a Backbone line created in the topology, using the medium specified in the dropdown menu above. |

Medium | The medium of Line 1.1 can be selected: TP, IP, PL and RF. | TP |
Group Address Style | Defines the group address style used in the project. For more information, see Group Address & Style. | Three Level |
Finally, by means of the button 'Create project' the new project will be created and opened immediately thereafter.
