Organizations wishing to offer official KNX certified courses must first become a KNX certified training centre.
The certification process consists of three phases:
Before applying, make sure that your organization meets the applicable General requirements for KNX training centres.
1. Application and registration
Step 1 - Create an organization in MyKNX
The training centre shall first create an organization in its MyKNX account. Once the organization has been created, the online application can be started via:
Account → Applications → Become a KNX Certified Training Centre
Complete all required information and submit the application to KNX Association.
Step 2 - KNX Association reviews the application
KNX Association reviews the submitted application.
If information is missing or incomplete, the training centre will be notified accordingly. The requested information shall then be added or corrected in the pending application in MyKNX.
Step 3 – Pay the registration fee
Once the application has been accepted by KNX Association, an order for the applicable training centre registration fee will be created in the organization's MyKNX account.
After the order has been accepted and paid, the organization receives access to the KNX training centre functions and resources in MyKNX.
These include, among others:
- creating KNX courses;
- accessing the official KNX training documentation and presentations;
- managing students;
- creating KNX exams; and
- managing KNX training activities.
For more information about the applicable fees, see Annual fee for KNX certified training centres.
2. Certification
To obtain KNX training centre certification, the training centre shall demonstrate that it complies with the applicable KNX requirements.
KNX Association assesses the information and supporting documentation submitted by the training centre. Depending on the applicable requirements, this includes evidence concerning:
- the KNX certified tutor(s);
- the required KNX training equipment;
- the required media and classroom equipment; and
- any other evidence required for the requested certification.
Photos, invoices or other supporting documents will be requested as evidence.
Once KNX Association has successfully assessed the required information and documentation, the organization is certified as a KNX certified training centre.
The training centre may then organize the KNX certified courses for which it has been approved.
3. Ongoing surveillance
KNX certification requires continued compliance with the KNX training centre requirements.
KNX Association monitors compliance with the certification program, including through the online satisfaction surveys completed by students participating in KNX courses.
KNX Association also reserves the right to carry out unannounced on-site inspections of KNX certified training centres.
If an inspection identifies irregularities or non-compliance with the applicable requirements, the training centre may be required to take corrective action. If shortcomings are identified during an on-site inspection, the expenses incurred by the KNX inspector shall be borne by the KNX training centre.
