The following effects occur when the status of the device security changes in connection with KNX Secure in the ETS project.
- Add Device & KNX Security
- Remove Device & KNX Security
- The device security will be disabled
- The device security will be enabled
Add Device & KNX Security
Possible change in status, e.g.
- Addition of a KNX IP device to existing KNX IP Secure devices with the security status enabled --> Query as to whether, upon adding, the security status should be disabled or the device should not be added.
- Addition of a KNX IP Secure device with the security status enabled to existing KNX IP devices --> query as to whether the security status should be enabled upon addition (+ parking of all normal KNX IP devices) or the device should be added as a KNX IP Secure device with the security status disabled. The mode remains Automatic.
- First addition of a KNX IP Secure device --> The security key is generated; KNX IP Secure is enabled. The mode remains Automatic.
Remove Device & KNX Security
Possible change in status, e.g.
- Removal of the last KNX IP Secure device with the security status enabled --> The security key is deleted, and the security status is (then) disabled. The mode remains Automatic.
- For a forced change to Off or On, the action/ query is analogous to that described above.
The device security will be disabled
- During the next download, the KNX Secure device will no longer be loaded securely (= plain commissioning).
- The KNX Secure device key will be reset.
- The passwords of the KNX Secure device(s) will be reset in the project (also for additional, secure interfaces).
- The KNX Secure is then disabled for run time as of the next device download (download is only possible if the device is present in the topology and is not parked or has no assigned individual address).
KNX IP Secure Devices
The final status of the KNX IP Secure is influenced in dependence on the setting for its security in the topology.
| Topology/ Security Mode | Action/ Comment |
| Automatic |
|
| Forced Off |
|
| Forced On |
|
KNX Data Secure Devices
The KNX Data Secure is influenced in dependence on the setting for its security on the group address.
| Group Address/ Security Mode | Action/ Comment |
| Automatic |
|
| Forced Off |
|
| Forced On |
|
The device security will be enabled
- During the next download, the KNX Secure device will be loaded securely (= secured commissioning).
- The project password must be set (if there is none).
- Device passwords (e.g. device key or for additional secure interfaces) are generated and set.
- The KNX Secure is then enabled for run time as of the next device download (download is only possible if the device is present in the topology and is not parked or has no assigned individual address).
