A KNX manufacturer that wishes to register a TP connector which is branded with the KNX logo has to meet certain requirements prior to launching this connector on the market:
- Create an internal test report according to the requirements as stipulated in Volume 9/1. All test requirements and test results in the internal test report shall be numbered according to the numbering listed for each specific connector requirement.
The company internal test report shall be compliant to the relevant ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. Restricting test results simply to 'pass' or 'fail' is only acceptable if the standard, on which a test is based, does not strictly oblige the test facility to document the values during the test and if a result can only be documented by 'pass' or 'fail'. - Send this internal test report to the Certification department of KNX Association.
- Only after a positive evaluation by KNX Association, the connector will be registered.
- This internal test report subsequently has to be sent to a KNX accredited test lab for an in-depth evaluation of this test report. If any proof of compliance would be missing, the test lab may require more documentation or may require that you perform additional tests.
- If all is satisfactory, the KNX accredited test lab will issue a test report confirming that the TP connector complies with the requirements as mentioned in Volume 9/1. This test report will be provided to both the KNX manufacturer and KNX Association.
- Once KNX Association receives this test report, it will issue the KNX Certificate.
