A KNX/USB interface is automatically recognized when it is connected to ETS, because ETS fetches the information about the certified KNX/USB interfaces from the 'knx_interfaces.xml' file that comes installed during the ETS set-up.
How to register a KNX/USB Interface?
- Follow the steps as described in the Registration phase.
- Provide the Tools Department - by creating a support ticket-, the following information on the interface:
- Unique Vendor ID
- Unique Product ID
- the KNX manufacturer code of the manufacturer commercializing the product
- Default display text
- Possible translations for the Default Display Text (in the supported languages in ETS)
Note:
- The unique Vendor ID and Product ID have to be requested from the USB Alliance (usb.org).
- If the KNX/USB interface is sold to an OEM customer, then the same Vendor ID can be used, the Product ID however must be different from the original manufacturer.
