A Dummy is not a real product nor application program and is inserted into ETS projects by KNX installers as a placeholder to allow, mainly visualization systems with no product data entry (these visualizations are not native KNX products), to have ETS correctly create the filter table of couplers. This has the benefit that telegrams can pass through couplers. A Dummy application is not loaded in the device and serves in other words for documenting group addresses used by devices not part of the ETS project.
A Dummy application typically contains a collection of group objects with different object sizes (e.g., 1 bit, 4 bit, 8 bit etc.).
