Teacher knowledge
One of the requirements for organizing a KNX NextGen course is that the Teacher has successfully passed the Basic course exam. The KNX Basic course can be taken at a KNX training centre which is accredited by KNX Association for the organization of KNX Basic courses.
Note:
- Only a KNX Teacher or a KNX Tutor from a KNX certified training centre who has the KNX Partner or Tutor certificate shall teach the theoretical as well as the practical part of the KNX NextGen course.
KNX Training equipment
The educational institute shall own at least one set of the material listed in Equipment NextGen course for demonstration purposes by the KNX Teacher. The apprentices may use KNX Virtual during practical classes. The training set of the KNX Teacher must be the property of the educational institute and may not be rented from other institutes.
Equipment NextGen course
The below-mentioned product types shall be available in each training set:
- One KNX actuator
- One KNX sensor
- Power supply (in case of use of TP sensors and actuators)
and for the KNX apprentices, a downloaded and installed copy of:
- KNX Virtual on their PCs

Media equipment
A projector, smart board, or similar media equipment shall be available in the room(s).
Note: It is recommended that the training rooms are subdivided into a theoretical and a practical room.
