Registration phase
In order to become a KNX NextGen educational institute, the interested educational institute shall create an organization in its MyKNX account and complete the online application (Account → Applications → Become a KNX NextGen educational institute).
If the application is not accepted by KNX Association for any reason, the educational institute will receive a notification that certain fields are incomplete and have to be updated. In this case, the educational institute has to go back to the pending application and complete the corresponding fields.
As soon as the online application is accepted by KNX Association, the educational institute will receive an order in its MyKNX account. Once the order is accepted and paid, the educational institute will be approved as an official KNX NextGen educational institute.
The KNX NextGen educational institute will then have access to various training resources, such as the possibility to create courses, download the Word version of the training documentation and/or PowerPoint presentations, and create exams.
For more information about the applicable fee, see Fee for KNX NextGen educational institutes.
Certification phase
KNX Association grants the respective KNX NextGen certificate after successful assessment of the requested documentation, including:
- the KNX Partner certificate of the KNX Teacher;
- photos and invoices of the training rig; and
- photos and invoices of the media equipment.
The certificate is valid for three years. During this period, the educational institute can create as many KNX NextGen courses as it wishes.
If the educational institute wishes to continue offering KNX NextGen courses after three years, it shall update its MyKNX profile.
Surveillance phase
The continuous compliance of the educational institute with the KNX certification program is checked by KNX Association on the basis of the completed online satisfaction surveys filled out by the apprentices.
