Overview:
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our ETS, we will be deprecating the default line. This decision has been made to enhance the building panel functionality, allowing users to add devices directly under specific building parts without default line.
Effected from: ETS 6.3.0 and above
What Does This Mean?
The default line functionality will no longer be available nor supported. This change impacts how devices are added to building parts and trades, particularly when device is not assigned to a line. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the implications:
1. Add a Device to a Building Part Without Default Line:
- Previous Method: Devices are automatically assigned default line individual address.
- New Method: Devices will now be added directly to the building part without being assigned to any default line. This enhances flexibility and allows for more precise management of devices within the building part
2. Move a Device Across Projects to a Building Part Without Default Line:
- Previous Method: Devices that are not assigned to a line cannot be moved across projects to building part.
- New Method: Devices moved across projects to a building part will no longer be assigned to a default line.
3. Add a device to a trade without default line:
- Previous Method: Adding a device to a trade would assign it to a default line.
- New Method: Users are able to add unassigned devices to trades, providing more control over device placement and organization.
Note: When copying the devices into a building part (without a default line) or trade, the source line is used
What is still supported?
There is no effect on existing projects.
