A KNX certified training centre is a training centre that has been certified by KNX Association to provide official KNX training.
Certification ensures that KNX training centres comply with the requirements defined by KNX Association regarding, among other things, tutor qualifications, training equipment, software, and course organization.

KNX certified training centres provide participants with the theoretical and practical knowledge required to properly plan, configure, commission, and maintain KNX installations using ETS.
Participants who successfully complete the KNX Basic course become KNX Partners and are officially recognized as certified KNX professionals.

The courses that a training centre is permitted to organize depend on its certification level and compliance with the applicable requirements.
Definitions
KNX course
An official KNX course, such as the Basic, Advanced, HVAC Specialist, Energy Management, Tutor, or Refresher course. Depending on the course type, a theoretical and/or practical exam may be required.
Courses may be organized on-site (face-to-face) or, where permitted for the respective course or course component, online. Face-to-face courses can take place at the training centre or, when mobile training rigs are used, at another suitable location.
KNX tutor
A person who has successfully completed the KNX Tutor course and passed the corresponding exam.
A KNX tutor is authorized to teach KNX (Condensed) Basic, (Condensed) Advanced, HVAC Specialist, Energy Management, and Refresher courses. To teach a KNX Tutor course, the tutor must have achieved at least 80% in the theoretical exam of the KNX Tutor course.
Online theoretical exam
A theoretical exam taken through the student's MyKNX account. An internet connection is required.
Offline theoretical exam
A theoretical exam that can be taken when no internet connection is available in the classroom.
KNX Virtual
A Windows application that simulates a KNX installation and its devices. Together with ETS, KNX Virtual allows participants to practice functions such as switching lights and controlling shutters without requiring physical KNX devices.
KNX training documentation
Official training documentation provided for the respective KNX certified course.
Self-educated person
A person who does not hold a KNX training certificate but can demonstrate extensive theoretical and/or practical experience with KNX and ETS.
MyKNX
KNX Association's online platform for KNX customers, Partners, training centres, members and other KNX stakeholders. Among other functions, MyKNX is used for managing KNX courses, exams, certificates, and ETS licenses.
KNX training objectives
The proper planning, installation, configuration, and commissioning of a KNX installation require qualified personnel. KNX training therefore provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed for:
- selecting suitable KNX devices and installation material;
- understanding the fields of application and main applications of the KNX system;
- selecting an appropriate KNX topology based on the building and the required functions;
- planning a KNX installation;
- installing KNX systems in accordance with applicable regulations, including requirements concerning lightning protection and electromagnetic compatibility;
- configuring and commissioning KNX installations using ETS and
- servicing and maintaining KNX installations.
