This article explains the different options in order to make a project backup. Principally, it is advised to make a project backup every time a modification on a project is completed and verify that the project backup can be imported properly.
The available options for project backup are the following:
1. Via a standard project export
Export the project, as shown here, to a safe location. This can either be an external hard-drive, or a cloud service (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.).
2. Via the project archive
Use the option 'Backup to archive' from the Project Archive as explained here. Set the project archive directory to a safe location. This can either be an external hard-drive, or a cloud service (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, Onedrive, etc.).
3. Via a third-party app
Purchase and use the payable ETS App Autobackup.
The Autobackup App will automatically create a snapshot of your ETS project (as knxproj) in a specified, project-specific location.
Please note that this ETS App has been developed by a third party and therefore KNX Association cannot support it and/or be held liable for possible malfunctions and/or feature requests.
