Registration type "Reassessment"
Registration type "Recombination"
Registration type "New"
This registration type concerns a new application program with a unique key that has not been registered before by KNX Association. This registration type in all cases imply software tests that have to be carried out by a KNX accredited test lab.

Configuration |
Select the configuration mode of the product:
|
|
Functional Block Compliance |
KNX guarantees the compatibility and runtime Interworking independently of the configuration mode by fixing elementary functions in so-called Functional Blocks. Functional blocks group a number of inputs, outputs and parameters. If your product has a functionality for which there is a Functional Block, then it is indispensable that you select this Functional Block as per Volume 6/30/1 where you can find a list of all Functional Blocks for which one or more Functional Block profiles exist:
Note: Functional Blocks are only mandatory if there are so-called FB Profiles foreseen (e.g. in the case of dimming actuator, movement detector etc.). If there is no Functional Block profile foreseen, then you do not need to enter a Functional Block in the registration application.
For more information on the use of a Functional Block e.g. see FB Dimming Actuator Basic explained. |
|
Implemented group address at delivery |
State whether your product when leaving the factory is already loaded with group addresses. If yes, state their values. |
|
Used Medium |
The medium is fetched from the *.knxei file. If RF, select also the exact RF flavor. |
|
Overview datapoint types |
This overview contains a list of all implemented datapoints. This list is retrieved from the Manufacturer Tool project/*.knxei file. The manufacturer has to make sure that the “ComObjectsRefs” section contained in the Static part of the application program in the Manufacturer Tool is completed meticulously. The following guidelines are helpful when creating a product database:

Registration type "Reassessment"
In this case, the registered/certified application program has undergone some changes. Based on the declared changes, KNX Association will assess, on a case-by-case basis, whether it is really a Reassessment or a New application and whether tests are required or not. If "reassessment application program" is chosen, then a reference shall be made to the original application program.
Certification relevant modifications especially relate to the product’s bus and/or download behavior, e.g. modification of group objects, parameters, supported client/server management services, etc. Modifications to the ETS DCA user interface are in principle not certification relevant.

Binary code (S19, S28, S37) |
|
For all above, as regards test rationalization for reassessed application programs, reference is made to Volume 8/7/1, clause 4.3.
Note: Binary code changed → New: Applied software modifications involving change of the binary code or extension of the number of parameters/objects in all cases imply a renewed registration and certification.
Registration type "Recombination"
A certified KNX product consists of the following parts: a BAU (whether or not integrated), an application program and an application module.
If parts are recombined which have once shown compliance to the KNX requirements (be it system, interworking or hardware requirements) in any combination of above-mentioned parts, it lies in the responsibility of the manufacturer to check the correct functioning of this new combination.
Although an application at KNX Association for this new combination is compulsory (via the MyKNX product registration tool), tests at a KNX accredited test lab is not. However, in the framework of market surveillance, KNX Association still reserves the right to oblige re-tests of this new combination at a KNX accredited test lab.
