Both the Main manufacturer and the OEM customer can create an OEM project. All depends on the agreement between the Main manufacturer and the OEM customer.
- If the OEM customer does not have the Manufacturer Tool, then this procedure has to be conducted by the Main manufacturer.
- If the OEM customer owns a Manufacturer Tool, then this procedure can be done by the OEM customer if the Main manufacturer has provided the OEM customer with a copy of the Main MT project.
- If only a *.vd*/*.knxprod file is available, then it is also possible to convert it to a KNX Manufacturer Tool project as described in Create a new product based on an existing product.
- Select File/New/Project button in the Manufacturer Tool.
- Select KNX OEM project.
- Select the location and choose the name for this OEM project.
- Select the source project (*.mtproj file), i.e. the Main project (Manufacturer: Siemens in our example).
- Select the Target Manufacturer, i.e. the OEM customer who wishes to sell the OEM version of this product (Manufacturer: Blumotix in our example).
