A company that wishes to register an OEM product which is branded with the KNX trademark has to meet certain requirements prior to launching this product on the market:
- The first requirement can be found in Step 1 and Step 3 of the Requirements prior to product certification.
- Whether the latest version of the Manufacturer Tool (MT) has to be purchased depends on the agreement with the Main manufacturer, meaning if:
- Main manufacturer is responsible for creating the OEM project: no MT required
- OEM customer is responsible for creating the OEM project: MT required
- The Certification coordinator of the Main manufacturer first has to release or deploy the Main product as well as the corresponding application program in his MyKNX account. More information can be found in Upload the *.knxei file (Main / OEM).
- During product registration, the applicant (can be the Certification coordinator of the Main manufacturer or the Certification coordinator of the OEM customer) has to refer to the original product and application program deployed by the Main manufacturer.
