As mentioned in this article, you need at least two training rigs which have to be equipped with a number of KNX devices.
When submitting your application for becoming a KNX certified training centre (or when updating your training centre's profile), you will see certain icons when adding KNX devices to a specific "product type" under the "Equipment" window. The meaning of these icons is as follows:

| This product has the status registered and is in the process of being certified. | |
| This concerns a certified KNX product. | |
| This product has the status "future use not recommended", meaning that the product is technically or commercially phased out. KNX training centres that do have such devices in their training rigs, may continue to use these KNX devices. |
