ETS displays special device icons to indicate various different device properties (this is marked in ETS, however, the real device in the installation has nothing to do with this).

Defective |
From a project's point of view the device is defective. That means that it is not possible to download or edit the parameters of the device. The device can still however be deleted or have its Application Program changed. Moreover, no access to the 'Settings' tab in the sidebar is possible. |
You need to import a functioning KNX product (directly from the manufacturer or from the latest product catalog). This situation very often occurs when a device with a plug-in was not installed correctly or the configuration data for it is missing. |
|
Incomplete |
From a project's point of view the device is incomplete. That means that some information is missing (e.g. the device's Data Handler plug-in was missing during import of the product). It is possible however to download or edit the parameters of the device. As a consequence, all downloads will be handled as complete download and not as partial download to ensure that all the data that has then been loaded is valid. |
The problem can be corrected by re-importing a complete product catalog for this device, e.g. from the manufacturer's website or using the Online Catalog. If you are the manufacturer of a device and you see this message, then please make sure that the option 'DownloadInfoIncomplete' in your Manufacturer Tool project is unchecked. |
