When transferring a license from one entity to another, there are two rules to keep in mind:
- Transferring an activated license → subject to a transfer fee (s. below)
- Transferring a non-activated license → free of charge (typically for resellers)
A. Transferring an activated license comes with the following service fees:
- ETS Professional License: €350 per license (excluding VAT)
- ETS Home License: €200 per license (excluding VAT)
- ETS Lite License: €100 per license (excluding VAT)
Step 1: How to request the transfer
The license owner (as stated on the original invoice) must send the request from the registered e-mail address linked to the account that holds the license(s) with the following information:
- The license number(s) you wish to transfer (e.g., license 9000001234567).
- The recipient's MyKNX username (e.g., KNX123456), name, and surname.
Step 2: Receive the offer with the transfer fees
Based on your request, our Support Team will send you an offer covering the applicable transfer fees. Once you've paid, please send us the paid invoice as confirmation. This step is required because the transfer is triggered manually by our team — it does not happen automatically after payment.
Step 3: Our team transfers the license
Once the final invoice has been received, our Support Team will transfer the license to the recipient's MyKNX account and confirm that the transfer has been completed.
B. Transferring a non-activated license is free of charge
- Licenses purchased for a different end-user — as is often the case with resellers — can be transferred for free, as long as they haven't been activated yet.
- Licenses that belong to a company but are still listed in a personal user account can be transferred to that company's organization account free of charge.
