Overview of ETS6 license types and prices, plus other KNX software tools, to help you choose the right license for your projects.
- ETS6 licenses are based on project size, not on private or professional use, so anyone can order any license.
- ETS6 Professional (€1,000) has no limits, ETS6 Home (€350) covers one project with up to 64 devices, and ETS6 Lite (€200) covers unlimited projects with up to 20 devices each.
- Only ETS6 Professional can be activated on a dongle. ETS6 Home and ETS6 Lite are cloud-based only.
ETS licenses are structured according to official guidelines based on project size, not on whether the software is used for private or professional purposes. Other KNX software licenses
In addition to ETS licenses, KNX Association offers the following tools for manufacturers and users in the KNX ecosystem.
Manufacturer Tool (for manufacturers only)
- Full Edition: €2,050 (excluding VAT and dongle shipping costs)
- Translator Edition: €150 (excluding VAT)
This license allows manufacturers to develop, configure, and maintain KNX-compatible devices, ensuring seamless integration with ETS, device certification, and optimal automation functionality.
KNX Virtual
- Price: Free, available to anyone
- Version: Cloud only
This software tool simulates KNX installations, allowing users to design, configure, and test smart home or building automation systems without physical hardware. It provides a practical way to learn and experiment with the KNX open standard for automation.
