All work in the KNX Manufacturer Tool is organized in projects. A project contains all source files which are necessary for the creation of this product data entry, i.e. application program descriptions, catalog structure, external binary files, help files etc. Follow the steps below in order to create a new project:
- Click on File/New/Project and select the 'KNX MT Project' option.
- Choose a proper location in your File Explorer for the project that you are about to create.
- Select the ETS target version. This setting determines the type of ETS product data to be distributed to your end customers. Please note that this target version is fixed and cannot be changed after the project is created.
- Enter your manufacturer name in the "Filter" field to retrieve your manufacturer code and name and press the OK button. In our example, we have chosen for the manufacturer Siemens as Main manufacturer.
- If the desired manufacturer code is not in the list when creating a new project, then request your manufacturer code as explained in Manufacturer code not available when creating a project?
