The PEI program controls the PEI (Physical External Interface) between the BCU and the application module and is a separate program laying down the actual functionality of the device. This product architecture is used to store two parts of the application program of a device in two different "containers" whereby the normal container is referred to as "application program 1" and the PEI program to "application program 2". The group objects shall always be assigned to application program 1.
