- The use of several ‘Master’ PCs (i.e. a PC on which the KNX Manufacturer Tool is installed) is NOT recommended. The registration data received from KNX Association must be imported to the same KNX Manufacturer Tool (MT) Project as the registration data sent to KNX Association was exported from, in order to avoid inconsistencies. Always save your data before exporting data wrapped up as a *.knxei file to KNX Association.
- If registration-relevant data changes have been made between sending the *.knxei file and receipt of the *.knxrcd file, then the signature in the registration data will not match anymore, and the product will remain unregistered. If this happens, you will have to re-submit your application program for registration, thereby incrementing the application program version.
- Never delete product data, modify them and re-export them again, when data was already dispatched for certification. When receiving the registration data from KNX Association, the Manufacturer tool will reject import.
- Always make a backup of your MT project when converting to a new Manufacturer Tool version.

MT v5.7.0 and higher as well as MT6 do not support the creation of MT projects with target version ETS3. Hence, it is not allowed to submit any registration applications with target version ETS3 anymore. The following deadlines have been established for registrations with target version ETS4:
