All KNX product registration requests are made through the MyKNX Product Registration Tool that is available to all KNX certification coordinators. The *.knxei file created in the Manufacturer Tool, first has to be uploaded by the applicant in this tool after which a number of fields in the various online data sheets will be automatically filled out.
Depending on the registration type chosen, different information must be filled out. The online forms contain help (by pressing the “i” icon) for nearly every field to be entered by the applicant. Fields not applicable to the submitted product can be left open.
Overview
- The imported data will always contain the registration overview of the hardware (1), product (2) and the application program (3) (in case of a Basic component, e.g. a power supply unit, there will usually be no application program available).
- Prior to filling out these forms by clicking on the pen icon, the certification coordinator has to select the registration type that is applicable for this registration (4). It is possible that some information is already filled out due to the fact that this information is available in the product catalog. This means that sometimes the registration type for product and/or application program does not have to be selected. E.g.
- if you are applying for an OEM product registration. In this case, the registration type will be automatically set to OEM.
- if you have submitted the same product for registration before and this time you only want to register an updated version of the application program, then it is not required anymore to fill out the hardware and product data sheet.
- Clicking on the pen next to the hardware, product or application program will open the corresponding data sheet. You will see that certain information is already completed and fetched from the uploaded *.knxei file.
