KNX ensures compatibility and runtime Interworking across all configuration modes by defining core functions within so-called Functional Blocks. Functional blocks group a number of inputs, outputs, and parameters.
When a product is submitted to the KNX Association for registration, it undergoes a comprehensive evaluation. This includes not only checks for hardware, software, and Interworking compliance, but also verification of Functional Block compliance (as detailed in the application program datasheet).
The table below lists the Functional Blocks for which one or more Functional Block Profiles are defined. If your product includes any of the functionalities described, it must comply with the corresponding Functional Block Profile(s). Detailed specifications for these Functional Blocks can be found in the KNX Specifications, specifically in:
- Volume 7/1/x
- Volume 7/10/1
- Volume 7/20/x
- Volume 7/50/x
