Problem
An ETS App remains unlicensed after adding its license file correctly in ETS.
Resolution
Solution 1
In order to have an ETS App licensed and functional in ETS, ensure that it is properly installed and licensed, as described here Installing-ETS5-Apps and here Licensing-ETS5-ETS5-Apps. In case of multiple dongles usage, ensure that the appropriate dongle is plugged into the PC.
Solution 2
Help files of type *.chm generate additional files (e.g. because of using the 'Search'-tab). If the App comes installed with such help file in the same folder then the additional files invalidate the signature of an App.
In order have such App working again follow these steps:
- Open Windows Explorer and enter in the address bar the path '%programdata%\KNX\ETS5\Apps\AddIns'.
- Search for all *.chm files.
- Remove the files or move them to a location outside of this path.
Solution 3
If an App has been updated recently or if there was another version installed previously, then its signature could be outdated, because it does not match with the App folder anymore.
In order to have such App working again follow these steps:
- Open Windows Explorer and enter in the address bar the path '%programdata%\KNX\ETS5\Apps\AddIns'.
- Search for a *.signature file and remove it, if there are several contact KNX Association in order to found out which one exactly shall be removed.
- If the App is still not working, try again by re-installing it after removing its *.signature file.
If none of the above solutions works, then please report the problem.
