Menu bar

The Menu Bar (1) provides access to all ETS features.

Details

Menu name	Scope
ETS	This button toggles between the ETS Dashboard and a currently active project.
Edit	Summarizes all editing functions.
Workplace	Modifies the current ETS work area layout or opens extra windows.
Commissioning	All required functionality in order to download ETS project data into KNX devices. Enabled if any "downloadable" content is selected.
Diagnostics	To diagnose and debug KNX installations.
Apps	Shows all the installed ETS Apps and allows their invocation in the projects whenever possible.
Window	To arrange the windows within a project
	Collapses/Expands the main tool bar
	Opens the local ETS help file

Set as Current Line	Sets the selected Line as the current Line
Print Labels	Invokes the Labels app
Add	Adds an additional element on the selected structure (Topology, Buildings, Group Addresses, etc.)
Transfer Parameters and Flags	Invokes the function Transfer Parameters and Flags
Unlink	Unlinks the selected devices from the building structure.
Add to Device templates	Invokes the Device Templates app.
Add channels	Triggers the (initial) manual creation of device channels by the ETS user
Suggest channels	ETS suggests device channels
Delete	Deletes the selected element(s)
Cut	Cuts the selected element(s)
Copy	Copies the selected element(s)
Paste	Pastes the previously copied element(s)
Paste Special	Triggers the Paste Special function
Paste Extended	Invokes the Extended Copy app
Split project	Invokes the Split & Merge app
Read value	Reads the Group Address value of the selected Group Address(es)
Write value	Writes the Group Address value of the selected Group Address
Export Group Addresses	Triggers a Group Address export
Import Group Addresses	Triggers a Group Address import
Preview Filter Table	Triggers the Preview Filter Table function
Properties	Shows the properties of the selected element

Close Project	Closes the currently active project.
Hide Menu Bar	This setting is persistent (remains active after an ETS restart).
Hide Context Menu Bar	This setting is persistent (remains active after an ETS restart).
Sidebar	The following settings can be defined: Containers to be shown in the sidebar: Find and Replace Workspaces Todo items Pending operations Undo history Position of the sidebar: Float Hide Dock Reset to default: Resets the sidebar configuration to the default (size, position and containers to be shown)
Open New Panel	Opens a new ETS Panel
Catalogs	Opens the product catalog window
Bus Monitoring	Opens the bus monitoring window
Group Monitoring	Opens the group monitoring window

Element	Action
Download	Shows all the available Download variants and executes the selected one upon the selected device(s).
Unload	Shows the following Unload options: Unload Application Unload Application and Address and executes the selected one upon the selected device(s).
Info	Shows the following Device Information read options: Device info Device info with Group Communication and executes the selected one upon the selected device(s).
Reset device	Resets the selected device(s).
Compare device	Invokes the Device Compare app.

Element	Action
Catch All Floating Windows	Resets all windows to their original docking positions.
Split Windows Horizontally	Splits the windows of the active project horizontally. This setting is made for each project individually.
Split Windows Vertically	Splits the windows of the active project vertically. This setting is made for each project individually.
Next tab	Switches to the next open tab
Previous tab	Switches to the previous open tab

Some of the menu entries are context sensitive and therefore not always visible. They can either be:

Disabled, i.e. the function cannot currently be used, e.g. paste without previously using copy, or a non-licensed function)
Unavailable, i.e. the function cannot be used with the currently selected items or the function is not installed, e.g. ETS Apps
