This article explains the different options in order to make a project backup. Principally, it is advised to make a project backup every time a modification on a project is completed and verify that the project backup can be imported properly.
The available options for project backup are the following:
1. Via a standard project export
Export the project as shown here, to a safe location. This can either be an external hard-drive, or a cloud service (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, Onedrive, etc.).
2. Via the project archive
Use the option 'Check-in & Keep Checked-out' from the Project Archive as explained here. Set the project archive directory to a safe location. This can either be an external hard-drive, or a cloud service (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, Onedrive, etc.).
3. Via a third party app
Purchase and use the payable ETS App Autobackup.
The Autobackup App will automatically create a snapshot of your ETS project (as knxproj) in a specified, project-specific location.
Please note that this ETS App has been developed by a third party and therefore KNX Association cannot support it and/or be held liable for possible malfunctions and/or feature requests.
