Logging Level
ETS keeps track of internal events on its own by storing these in a log file to help the KNX support team when analyzing any possible errors. The extent of the contents of these log files can be managed in this setting. Two logging levels are defined, i.e. Standard and Extended. By default, the logging level is set to Standard.
ETS only writes information to the log file after a predefined trigger event has occurred. In this case, the last n events - before the trigger event - are also recorded to the log file so that the previous events can be reconstructed.
- Standard Log Level: n = 500; Trigger event type = ERROR
- Extended Log Level: n= 1000; Trigger event type = ERROR
Up to 5 log files at a maximum of 5 MB each are saved in a directory (the oldest file is overwritten first). This means that the content of the log files remains available over a longer period of time. As a result, this log data is included when a support case is created using the data of the (executed) diagnostics wizard.
With the setting “Extended” almost all activities are logged. Consequently, you should only use the Extended logging level under special circumstances, e.g. when requested to do so by the KNX Support team.

Allow anonymous collection and sending of ETS usage data to KNX Association. | This setting allows KNX to collect anonymized information about the software usage in order to improve the quality of the software. It's enabled by default, however it can be deactivated by unchecking this option. When changing the setting, the user is prompted to restart ETS in order the modification to take effect.
