When upgrading from ETS5 to ETS6, it is important to take the necessary precautions to ensure a smooth transition of your ETS5 projects.
Before you upgrade to ETS6

License availability
After upgrading to ETS6, your previous ETS5 license will no longer be available for download in your myKNX account, as it has been replaced by the new license.

Dongle usage
Your existing ETS5 license will remain stored on your dongle and will not be deleted during the upgrade. Please note that, since ETS5 has reached its end of lifecycle, lost or defective ETS5 dongles cannot be replaced: Dongle Replacement Policy

Project backup (mandatory)
Before upgrading, ensure that all ETS projects are exported as project files or archive files.
If your projects are not backed up and the dongle becomes unusable, access to your existing projects will only be possible via the chargeable Project Repair Service.
The upgrade options are displayed in your myKNX account under “Shop → Available Upgrades”, where you can select the license you wish to upgrade to.
If no “Available Upgrades” are displayed in your myKNX account, this means that the ETS license you wish to upgrade is not listed under Account → Products, it may then be listed in another account.
In this case, please contact us at info@knx.org, and we will assist you in locating the relevant license.
The indicated upgrade prices do not include a dongle.
