The upgrade procedure is identical for every upgrade
Before you upgrade
- Be aware that after a license upgrade has been completed, the former license is not available anymore in the MyKNX account. The former license gets converted into the new license, this action cannot be rolled back.
- You can save the ETS4 or ETS5 license file before you upgrade, by downloading it from your product page.
- You can only order an upgrade if the license you wish to upgrade is listed in the account where you want to place the order (Account > Products)
- If you upgrade from ETS4 to ETS6 you will be able to add a new ETS6 dongle (s. picture) for an extra cost of €80, as this dongle is different from the one for ETS4. It is shipped when the order is paid. Since the release of the ETS6 cloud-based license the dongle has become an option you can add. If you prefer to work via the cloud, do not add this option. Choose wisely > ETS6-Cloud-based or Dongle-based license type
- If you upgrade within the same ETS6 version to a higher license, ex: from ETS6 Lite to ETS6 Home/Pro, then you will be able to add a new dongle if your former Version was a cloud-based license. If your former Version was a dongle-based license this option will not be proposed as you already have one.
You will just need to reactivate the dongle you have by following this procedure, Reactivate your dongle after Upgrade

Pricing
The actual upgrade costs can be found in the MyKNX account where the upgrade to the license you wish to order is available under the tab 'Shop > Available Upgrades'.
If you cannot find any 'Available Upgrades' in your MyKNX account, then the ETS license you wish to upgrade is not listed under your product page 'Account > Products'. In that case, contact us via info@knx.org, and we will help you find the license you wish to upgrade.
The following prices apply (dongle not included):
These prices do not include a dongle. If an upgrade would propose the possibility to include a dongle for that upgrade (ex: from ETS4 to ETS6), an additional cost of €80 will be applied if you chose this option.
