Unloading a device means that it will be reset to its ex-factory settings.
The Unload function can be invoked via:
- the main toolbar
- a right mouse click on a device
There are two possibilities for the Unload function:
- Unload Application (device does not need to be in Programming Mode)
- Unload Application and Address (device needs to be in Programming Mode)
The progress of the unloading process can be monitored in the Sidebar under 'Pending Operations' container.
Unload Application
It unloads the device's loaded application program, parameters and group addresses. All downloaded data will be deleted from the device memory, i.e. previous device configuration is no longer available. However, ETS can still connect to the device via its individual address, which remains valid.
Unload Application and Address
In the first step, the function unloads the device's loaded application program, parameters and group addresses and in the second step it sets the device's individual address to 15.15.255. All downloaded data will be deleted from the device memory, i.e. previous device configuration as well as the individual address are no longer available. All programming flags of the corresponding device in the project are cleared.
ETS allows only the unloading of one device at a time and only by pressing the programming button on the device. In this way ETS prevents the accidental unloading of a physically inaccessible device (e.g. mounted in the ceiling or floor).
