The programming buttons of devices are directly associated with:
- the device programming mode, which is either 'on' or 'off'
- the device commissioning status, which is either 'unloaded' or 'loaded'
- the device configuration
Because of these direct associations, the programming buttons of all KNX Virtual devices are being placed in the 'Installation / Configuration' dialog, which can be accessed via the main menu item 'Installation'.
Any device (except for the interface) can be put in programming mode by clicking its corresponding cell in the ID column. If a device is being put in programming mode (= on), then this cell is colored red.
It's not possible to put more than one device in programming mode at a time via the 'Installation / Configuration' dialog, because this is considered being a user mistake. This behavior does however not correspond with reality because in a physical KNX installation it is of course possible to put more than one device in programming mode at a time.
