Problem
It may happen that in a project, the product data (properties, Group Objects, catalog entries, etc.) from one or more devices are shown in a different language than the 'Preferred Product Language' that has been set in the ETS settings.
Solution
- Ensure that the 'Preferred Product Language' has been set to the desired language.
- Open the project in which the language of the product data shall be changed.
- Open the 'Catalog' panel and find the product that you would like to have its product data language changed.
- Right click on the product entry from the online catalog 'Update from Online Catalog'.
- ETS will ask for restart confirmation. Confirm it and let ETS restart.
- The selected product shall now be available in the selected language.
If after following the steps above the product is still not shown in the desired language, then it may happen one of the following cases:
- Case 1 - The manufacturer does not offer this product in the requested language at all
- Case 2 - The manufacturer does not offer this product in the requested language in the selected online catalog market
- Case 3 - The product data has missing/incomplete language information
Case 1 - The manufacturer does not offer this product in the requested language at all
Get in contact with the respective manufacturer and ask for localized product data. KNX Association cannot assist here.
Case 2 - The manufacturer does not offer this product in the requested language in the selected online catalog market
The product data is available in your desired language, but it's simply not offered in the online catalog market that you have selected via the online catalog settings. What you can do is to change the market to another one where this product data is available in the desired language and perform the steps of the solution again.
Case 3 - The product data has missing/incomplete language information
The manufacturer has provided the desired language for the product data, but it's incomplete. What you have to do is to get in contact with the respective manufacturer and ask to complete the localized product data. KNX Association cannot assist here.
