The linked folders functionality works as following:
The list of linked folders is displayed in the root of the current archive path, and can be only be seen in the project archive list view. Any projects contained in those folders are listed in the exact same way as the archived projects from the root folder.
The list contains the folders that have already been linked and is sorted by the creation date of that link. It can contain a maximum of 20 links, after which the 'Add link' button is disabled. After deleting a link, you will be able to add a new linked folder.
The displayed name of a linked folder is the name of the last folder in the target path and hovering the entries with the mouse shows the full target path as a tooltip.
Adding linked folders
To add a linked folder, click the 'Add link' button and select the folder, which you would like to link with your project archive.
The linked folders are saved as proprietary files (i.e. <hash of path or timestamp>.archivelink file) into the archive root folder (practically shared among users, using the same archive root folder)
ETS prevents that linked folders are set:
- that represent the archive root path itself, or any of its sub-folders or
- that are identical to other, already set linked folders or any of their sub-folders
Removing linked folders
To remove a linked folder, click the '' button from the respective folder entry. Attempting to remove a linked folder entry asks for your confirmation.
- Confirming the removal will remove the link, but the target folder remains in the file system (i.e. data remains untouched) and can be linked again if needed.
- Canceling here will not remove the entry.
