KNX certified training centres can create and manage their KNX courses directly in MyKNX.
The procedure below uses the KNX Basic course as an example. The same general procedure applies to the other KNX course types.
Please note: This procedure is similar for other course types.
1. Add a new course
Log in to MyKNX and go to Account → Training Centre → Courses
Click Add course to create a new course.
2. Enter the course details
Enter the required information for the course.

| Name | Enter a clear name for the course, e.g. KNX Basic Course – March 2021. |
| Course type | Select the KNX course type you want to organize. |
| Tutors | Select the KNX certified tutor(s) who will teach the course. |
| Lecture language | Select the language in which the course will be taught. |
| Training documentation language | Select the language of the training documentation. |
| Exam language | Select the language of the exam. |
| Location | Select On-site when the course is organized at the training centre or Other location when it is organized elsewhere. When selecting another location, enter the complete address. |
| Theory Course | Select whether the theoretical part will be organized on-site or online. Online delivery is only possible where permitted for the selected course type. |
| Practical Course | Select the location of the practical part. Online practical training is only possible where permitted for the selected course type. |
| Theoretical exam organization: |
Select whether the theoretical exam will be organized online or offline. When Online is selected for the theoretical exam the students' computers shall have an internet connection and each student shall have access to their personal MyKNX account. For more information, see Organizing an online theoretical exam. When Offline is selected for the theoretical exam, the students' computers do not require an internet connection. The training centre shall provide the students with the required offline examination tool. For more information, see Organizing an offline theoretical exam. |
| Software version | Select the ETS software version that will be used during the course. |
| Maximum students | Enter the maximum number of students who can attend the course. This number shall correspond to the available training equipment and applicable course requirements. |
| Notes | Enter any additional information for students, e.g. Bring your own laptop. |
| Email notification to students prior to the course | Select how many days before the course students shall receive a course notification. |
3. Create the timetable
The timetable shall comply with the requirements of the selected KNX course type.
For a KNX Basic course:
- the total course duration, including the exams, shall be at least 30 hours;
- at least 50% of the total course duration shall consist of practical training; and
- all mandatory blue and green course modules shall be included. The theoretical and practical exam are considered as 'theoretical'.
4. Save and enable the course
After completing the course details and timetable, save the course.
The following options are available:
| Course confirmation | Description |
| Visible on the KNX website | Select this option if the course shall also be displayed on the KNX website and in MyKNX. |
| Save | Saves the course and its settings. |
| Enable | Enables the course so that students can register for it. |
| Disable | Disables an enabled course. Students can no longer view or register for the course. |
Before enabling the course, verify that the course details, timetable, tutor assignment, and maximum number of students are correct.
Important
Only actual KNX courses and actual course participants may be registered in MyKNX.
It is strictly prohibited to create courses with fictitious students or to register persons as having completed a KNX course when they did not actually participate in the course.
Fictitious courses or students shall also not be created for testing purposes.
