Please note that the:
- Exams shall always be taken in the presence of a KNX tutor.
- Exception: The theory exam of the tutor course can also be taken online (remotely).
- The theoretical offline exam may be composed a couple of days before the exam day.
- First, the theoretical exam organization field in the course properties shall be set to offline.
- Select the 'Person' icon next to the course.
- Select the student(s) for whom an offline exam shall be composed.
- As soon as the 'Compose Exam' button is clicked, a 'download icon' representing the offline exam is shown. This means that the offline exam has been composed for the selected student(s).
- Click on the 'Download' icons (1 + 2) in order to download the individual offline exam files of the students.
- Provide the students with the corresponding .knxexam files (3) and the offline exam tool.
The offline exam tool consists of two files (changelog.txt and knx-examtool-signed.exe), which must first be extracted by the KNX tutor for the student. - The KNX tutor has to make sure that the correct file is given to the correct student. Basically, this means that the training centre has to provide:
- Student 1 with exam-KNXStudent1.knxexam file + extracted KNX offline exam tool
- Student 2 with exam-KNXStudent2.knxexam file + extracted KNX offline exam tool
- Once the exam is finished, the KNX tutor has to collect the exam files of each individual student, which can be found in the 'Exam' folder. The tutor has to move both files to a USB stick so that these files are not available anymore on the computer of the student.

- The KNX tutor now has to upload all collected answers-KNXxxxxxx.knxexam files in his/her training centre's MyKNX account. The upload field can be found when clicking on the ‘Person’ icon next to the corresponding course.
- If there is also a practical exam for the KNX course, then please follow the following steps:
- Enter the practical exam result by clicking on the magnifying glass next to the student. Please also confirm the results by clicking on the 'Confirm results' button.
- An automatic email is now sent informing the student about a new KNX certificate and voucher (if vouchers are available and if the student has passed the exam).
- The student will only be able to download the KNX certificate if the KNX satisfaction survey is filled out.
- Enter the practical exam result by clicking on the magnifying glass next to the student. Please also confirm the results by clicking on the 'Confirm results' button.
