The theoretical exam for a KNX certified course can be organized online or offline, depending on the applicable course requirements and the internet connection available at the exam location.
For both exam types, the KNX exam system generates random exam statements, which may differ for each student.

Online theoretical exam
An online theoretical exam requires a stable internet connection, either via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, at the exam location. Each student takes the exam through their personal MyKNX account.

Offline theoretical exam
An offline theoretical exam can be used when no stable internet connection is available at the exam location, for example, when a course is organized at a remote location with poor internet connectivity.
The exam is conducted using the KNX Offline Exam Tool.
