Step-by-step guide to registering your company in MyKNX, adding team members, assigning access roles, and assigning ETS licenses.
- A MyKNX organization account is required to purchase KNX licenses for professional use.
- You need a personal MyKNX account first, and every team member needs their own personal account before they can be invited.
- Administrators assign access roles and ETS licenses to members, who then activate the license in ETS with their own credentials.
To purchase KNX licenses for professional use, you need a MyKNX organization account.
An organization account is intended for companies and organizations working with the KNX system, including KNX Members, Training Centers, National Groups, User Clubs, Scientific Partners, Test Labs, Associated Partners, and other companies.
1. How to create an organization account
- Log in to your personal MyKNX account. You need one before you can register an organization. See How to create and manage a personal MyKNX account.
- Click your name and select Register your organization.
- Complete the registration form for your organization.
- Add your EU VAT number, if applicable.
Once registered, your organization appears under your personal account, as shown below. You can switch between your personal and organization accounts from this menu at any time. To access the organization account, always log in to your personal account first.
Next, switch to your Organization Account and add your invoice and shipping address under Account → Manage Contacts. If the two addresses differ, label them clearly.
2. How to add members to your organization
Each person you want to add must first create their own personal MyKNX account.
- Log in and switch to your organization account.
- Go to Account → Members and click Add person.
3. Enter the person's registered email address or KNX username and click Invite.
The person receives an email invitation to join your organization, which they need to accept. Until they do, they are listed as "Pending" under Account → Members.
Once a person accepts the invitation, they are listed as “Employee” under Account → Members. By default, new members have no access to the organization account, so an administrator must assign them an access role. The person who created the organization account is its administrator, with full access and responsibility for managing roles.
To assign a role:
- Go to Account → Members.
- Open the drop-down menu next to the new member and select the appropriate role.
For details on each role, see Access roles and their rights in organizations.
4. How to assign a license
- Log in to your personal account.
-
Switch to your organization account.
3. Go to Account → Products.
4. Select the ETS license you want to assign to a member of your organization and open its details.
5. Click Edit Assignment.
6. Choose the assignee (member) from the drop-down menu. Only members of your organization account appear in this list.
After the license is assigned, the member must launch ETS6, sign in with their personal MyKNX credentials, and activate the license. The license can only be used by that member.
